Live the co-operative way!

This website will help you understand what is involved in Co-operative Housing. Willow Park Housing Co-op Ltd is a housing development designed as single-family units for the sole use of our members and their families. 

Willow Park Consists of 200 homes, owned and managed by the members that live in the homes of Willow Park.

 

Please note that Willow Park does not provide or accept housing subsidies. We are NOT affiliated with Manitoba Housing.

Information for Willow Park Members

​

  • Maintenance Information:

    • Emergency numbers for Maintenance are in the Willow Park Directory at the back of your Annual General Meeting booklet.

    • On weekends Willow Park has one of the Maintenance staff on call. Please call the office at 204-632-0746 and listen to the after-hours message to find out who to call for weekend emergencies.

    • When maintenance is required on your unit, please call the office to put in a work order. Leaving the office a voicemail or emailing with all the particulars is acceptable, use the new ON-LINE FORM.                                            

  • Garbage information:

    • Please do not leave large items by the garbage bins; the garbage collectors will NOT pick them up. Please call the City of Winnipeg at 311 for collection of furniture, etc...  They will advise you of a pickup date and where to put the items. Please mark ‘City of Winnipeg’ on the items so we know they are waiting to be picked up.                                 

  • Pet Policy/information:

    • Pet Policy: One-bedroom units can have up to two (2) pets, maximum of one small dog. Three (3) pets in total are allowed in all other units. Please note: 2 bedroom units can have 3 pets with a maximum of one dog, three and four bedroom units can have a maximum of 3 pets with  a maximum of two dogs of which one has to be a small dog. 

    • Small dog is considered  a dog similar to or smaller than a border collie.                                                                    

  • Notice to Vacate:

    • Length of Notice

      • Two full calendar months written notice from the first day of the month is required if no short notice penalties are to be assessed. A “Notice to Vacate’ form is found at the back of this booklet or available at the office.

      • Should a unit be vacated on short notice and the Co-operative is able to fill that unit before the two months, no short notice penalty shall be applied. Members should be aware they are subject to our Short-Term Residency clause.                                                                                                                                                                

    • Member & Co-Member 

      • If the Housing Agreement contains a member and a co-member both are required to sign the notice to vacate.

      • If the Housing Agreement contains a member and a co-member and the member or the co-member vacates the unit, the remaining member maintains membership in said unit without re-applying or re-qualifying. However, written notice must be given to the office that indicates which member is vacating with the request that the vacating member be removed from the membership. This document must be dated and signed by both members. There shall be no charges levied for this requirement and the total share/member deposit amount must remain with the unit.

      • It is the responsibility of the outgoing member to have mail forwarded to their new address. WPHC office will not collect or forward mail.                                                                                                                                         

    • Notice in Event of Death

      • The death of a sole member shall have the same force and effect as notice to vacate, i.e., two calendar months’ notice is still required.

  • General Information:

    • Complaints by a member are to be submitted to the office in writing.

    • Willow Park has a memo most months, delivered to all members.

    • If you are unsure about something, the Office will be more than happy to assist you with any questions or concerns.
